Introducing Cambridge Early Years
Cambridge Early Years is designed to be used flexibly to enable you to embrace your own local, regional and national contexts. The Cambridge Early Years programme can be used in any Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre in South Africa, to ensure learners receive a well-rounded education that meets national standards while benefitting from the global perspective of the Cambridge curriculum.
Curriculum Mapping & Key Insights
A full curriculum mapping analysis shows that the Cambridge Early Years curriculum aligns well with the South African National Curriculum Framework (NCF) (birth to 4 years) and the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) (Foundation Phase).
By mapping the Cambridge EY curriculum to the NCF and CAPS, we have identified key similarities and areas of alignment that show how learners who start in centres applying the Cambridge Early Years programme are well-prepared to transition smoothly into Grade R or Grade 1.
