This session gives an overview of the main changes in Units 1 and 2 of the North American Cambridge Latin Course, 6th edition. Caroline Bristow and Lisa Hay From the Cambridge Society Classics Project (CSCP) touch on all elements of the course and explain the pedagogical thinking and new research which has gone into their creation. You'll meet some of our new characters and find out about new storylines, as well as revisiting some of the faces and content you know and love. Previous to this she was the Classics and Religious Studies Subject Specialist at the exam board OCR, where she led on the creation of new qualifications. and worked with the Department for Education and Ofqual to develop subject specific guidelines and regulations. Caroline has taught a variety of subjects in the state sector at GCSE, AS and A Level, including Classical Civilisation, Classical Greek, Religious Studies, Philosophy and Anthropology. Lisa has been the Latin Learning Specialist at CSCP since 2019, primarily writing materials such as the new edition of the Cambridge Latin Course, and the resources around it. Before joining CSCP, Lisa spent almost two decades in the classroom, teaching the full range of Classical subjects across KS3-5 in the state sector. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of St Andrews before gaining her PGCE in Classics at the University of Cambridge.
