What teachers say
"I use the Cambridge Latin Course and absolutely love it. The stories are interesting (and often funny), and the grammar explanations make sense. There is no other textbook out there with such a wide variety of ancillary materials that are easily available."
Jacque Myers
Teacher, Cambridge Latin Course
“There is so much for them to do throughout each stage. They are coached and encouraged to consider the information rather than left to their own devices to “study” it.”
Virginia Blasi
NACCP
“All of the old strengths are still there – it has engaging plotlines around relatable characters, grammatical discussion is focused on reading skills and comprehension development rather than forms and rote paradigms, and there is frequent use of the target structures in text.”
Todd Wegenhart
Teacher, Wyoming High School

With a 50-year history of development and revision, the Cambridge Latin Course is long established as the leading introductory course for Latin.
The 6th edition has evolved, in collaboration with teachers and leading academics, and now features a cast of both familiar faces and new characters with revamped storylines, plus a more explicit emphasis on higher order thinking skills.
Through the coursebooks and improved accessible digital resources, today’s learners will develop a more nuanced appreciation of Roman civilization and history while becoming proficient readers of Latin.

As classics enrolment in secondary education declines, educators are grappling with the same questions: how can we show our students that Classics is for everyone? How do we teach the uncomfortable truths of antiquity in a sensitive way? What can we do to build classrooms where every student feels seen and heard?
These professional development materials on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Latin Classroom bring our North American Latin teaching community together through the sharing of initiatives, case studies, lesson ideas, and much more.

We are releasing the digital resources in phases
The new digital teaching and learning platform will be fully accessible, and enable you to assign learning tools to students and track their progress.
We want to give you the chance to review the evolving digital resources as early as possible, so we will release the content and features in stages from April, and Units 1 and 2 will be available for you to try in the classroom with your students from August this year.
The 6th edition digital resource will retain the learning capabilities of the 5th edition, such as the ability to test vocabulary, translation and ‘Explore the story’, although the tools may not look the same, and the way you interact with them may change.
